Is that a real obstruction or just a weird loop of healthy intestine? Is it a mass or a foreign body? Does it look small enough to pass on its own? Join Kevin Jepsen-Grant, DVM, Sunday at 9 p.m. ET to discuss the radiographic clues that can guide your therapy.

This session will feature audio. Take the readiness test before attending.

Survey of western Canadian veterinary practices: A demographic profile
Free Full Text

This report informs both prospective employees and employers on the state of the marketplace for veterinary associates, and provides an overview of the demographics of the veterinary profession in western Canada.

Evaluation of diagnostic accuracy of the comparative tuberculin skin test in rehabilitant Bornean orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus)
These data reinforce recommendations that a CTST be used in orangutans and support the use of APPD at 25,000 IU/ml and BPPD at 100,000 IU/ml. The highest score at each site from the 48- and 72-hour checks should be considered the result for that tuberculin. If the bovine result is greater than the avian result, the animal should be considered a TB suspect.

Mechlorethamine, vincristine, melphalan and prednisone (MOMP) for the treatment of relapsed lymphoma in dogs
Dogs with T-cell lymphoma had an overall response rate (ORR) of 55% for a median of 60  days (range 49-858  days), while those with B-cell lymphoma had an ORR of 57% for a median of 81  days (range 7-274  days). The overall survival time for all dogs was 183  days (range 17-974  days).

Health And Wellness Task Force Has Created A Mental Wellness Video For Veterinary Students, Clinicians, Etc.
The aim is to reach students and veterinarians who might be feeling overwhelmed, depressed, or suicidal.

Grade II Mast Cell Tumor: Should Histamine Blockers Be Continued After Tumor Removal?
They may be beneficial preoperatively in dogs with high-grade mast cell tumors, because a high incidence of microscopic gastric ulceration has been reported.

Radiographs From A Heartworm-Positive Dog Are Consistent With Pulmonary Embolism
The VD view is absolutely classic for what we see with post-adulticide complications in dogs.

Young Cockatoo With Missing Feathers And Abnormal Beak: Psittacine Beak And Feather Disease (PBFD) Strongly Suspected
The dirty feathering (from the lack of powder) and the lack of powder down feathers over the thigh are classical for this presentation at this age.

Exceptional Care for Cats - Improving the Experience for the Patient, the Client & the Clinical Team
August 1 - September 1, 2016

Handling cats in practice can be challenging. In order to work harmoniously with cats, we want to try to look at things from their point-of-view. The cat is a species that has evolved with a social structure different than ours. Cats are able to function completely efficiently as a solitary creature, yet have complex and changing social interactions. Being both predators and prey affects how they respond in a clinic setting.

Clinical Concepts in Collecting and Evaluating Blood Smears and Bone Marrow Aspirates
September 8 - October 30, 2016

This course offers veterinarians a unique perspective on blood smears and bone marrow aspirates from both an internist and a clinical pathologist teaching in tandem. This allows for discussions on obtaining diagnostic samples, interpreting blood smears and bone marrow aspirates in conjunction with history, physical exam, laboratory data and diagnostic imaging, and how to use this information to optimize a treatment plan.

Check the World Clock Time Zone Converter to confirm class start times for your area.
