Comparison of the ability of veterinary medical students to perform laparoscopic versus conventional open ovariectomy on live dogs
The training programs were effective in improving student confidence and skills in laparoscopic ovariectomy. Results of this study suggested that veterinary medical students, with assistance from an instructor, may be taught to perform laparoscopic ovariectomies with performance equivalent to that for students performing open ovariectomies.

Quality of life and pain in dogs with early-stage mammary tumours
Mammary tumour increased the presence of pain 8.3 times and defecation difficulties 10 times. It can be concluded that even small MTs can elicit pain in dogs, which interferes with their quality of life.

Sepsis and Septic Shock in the Equine Neonate
Early and aggressive treatment should include broad-spectrum antimicrobial coverage, source control, and hemodynamic support.

Dog With Hemolytic Anemia After Multiple Bee Stings
I'm not sure that the hemolysis is associated with hypersensitivity as much as the hemolytic toxins in the bee venom. That is, I doubt that a single sting in the future would cause a significant problem. Multiple envenomations might.

Our brief experience with the externs was not impressive. No practical skills -- just book reading that was partially remembered. The company relies completely on the externship to do all the training -- and the company gets the money.

Has Anyone Tried Cerumen Transfaunation For Otitis Externa In Dogs?
The vast majority of the otitis cases I see are due to allergic disease and the otitis is just a symptom. I'm not sure what a transplant would do to prevent a future flare-up.

Free Vaccines For Life (FVFL): Maintaining The Program

In an apparently healthy young (less than 1 year old) dog or cat, seen by your practice since 8 weeks of age, coming in for an elective procedure (e.g. spay or castration) with a normal physical exam and complete and normal history, do you obtain routine pre-anesthetic bloodwork?
