An Observational Study of Abstracts Presented at the American College of Veterinary Surgeon Annual Meetings (2001-2008) and Their Subsequent Full-Text Publication
Compared to their conference abstracts, 49% of articles contained major inconsistences including changes in study design, interventions, outcomes, sample size, and results. For each year elapsed between presentation and publication, the odds of major inconsistency increased 2.4 times for retrospective studies and 1.4 times for other study designs.

Scintigraphic Tracking of Allogeneic Mesenchymal Stem Cells in the Distal Limb After Intra-Arterial Injection in Standing Horses
Intra-arterial injection of MSC can be performed in standing horses under sedation and successfully distribute MSC to the distal limb. Partial venous thrombosis was observed as a complication, but did not cause changes of clinical importance, other than rare transient swelling.

Use of a maze test to assess spatial learning and memory in cattle: Can cattle traverse a complex maze?
The results show Japanese Black cows are able to learn to traverse a complex maze when they are provided with step-by-step learning opportunities, although this ability is limited to about 20% of animals. Once learned, they can retain the memory of the maze configuration for up to 6 weeks.

The Veterinary Feed Directive: Resources And Guidelines

Dogs With Pituitary-Dependent Hyperadrenocorticism: Is There A Maximum Recommended Dose Of Trilostane?
You don't always get what you ask for, if the trilostane is compounded. That's why we try not to do it unless we really need a certain dose that can't be obtained by using the actual Vetoryl product.

Tips For Taking Better Patient Histories
I have caught some of those not-really-indoor-only cats by asking if he is a good hunter. Then, of course, I have to confirm that the owners don't have an indoor mouse problem!

Treatment For Canine Hip Dysplasia In Adults And Puppies
This has really motivated me to rethink how we should address puppies and mature dogs in attempting to prevent or slow progression of this disease.
