Chemotherapy safety continues to be one of the most important training topics for the oncology team. This lecture will begin with a brief review of current guidelines. It is important that facilities strive for and achieve compliance based upon those guidelines. Although many of the guidelines are not fluid, ideas for storage, workflow, scheduling, PPE, administration, and disposal shared between teams can increase efficiency and provide even better patient care. Increasing efficiency often has a direct and in-direct positive effect. This lecture will cover a broad review of many different tasks and procedures associated with chemotherapy preparation and administration.
