Description:
This conversation will discuss the student debt problem for veterinarians and the importance of personal finances training. Tools to manage student debt will also be explored.

To earn a certificate of completion the participant must complete all learning modules and score 80% or better on the end-of-course test. Completion of the Conversation will take a minimum of 54 minutes. Participants must complete the participation requirements by April 30, 2025 to be eligible for a certificate.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the Conversation, the participant should be able to
  • know how big the student debt problem is for veterinarians and the importance of specific personal finances training.
  • learn the possible impact of poor decision making in personal finances on personal & professional life.
  • understand how early incorporation of financial assistance can have a significant positive impact in the management of student debt.
  • know the impact of different career pathways on personal finances.
  • learn tools & resources that can help individual veterinarians manage their student debt.


Level and Prerequisites: This basic VIN CE Conversations With Colleagues is open for enrollment to Veterinarians interested in personal finances training. This course is open to VIN members only.
Credit Approval: This non-interactive Conversations With Colleagues is approved for 1 hour of continuing education credit by RACE for veterinarians. (RACE 20-938970)

Total Time: 10 minutes
Successful completion (scoring 80% or better) on the end-of-course test is required to earn a certificate of completion for the course.

    2. Veterinary support staff must be VSPN members in order to enroll in a VIN CE course open to VSPN member enrollment.

    1. VSPN CE courses are open to veterinary support staff and veterinarians.
    2. Only VIN and VSPN members can enroll in a VSPN CE course.
    3. Veterinarians will only receive credit for those VSPN CE courses that specify in the Accreditation statement that the course is accredited for veterinarians.
  3. Please check the course Level and Prerequisites, Accreditation, and Tuition before enrolling.
