This course will cover diagnosis and treatment of canine IMHA, emphasizing practical strategies to be employed in the private practice setting. Week 1 (Real Time Session July 14, 2020): Diagnosis of Canine IMHA

Objectives: Upon completion of this session, the participant should be able to
- Identify the tests needed to diagnose IMHA in dogs.
- Interpret the results of the tests used to diagnose IMHA in dogs.
- Get to a final diagnosis of IMHA in dogs.

Objectives: Upon completion of this session, the participant should be able to
- Describe an overview of the goals of medical management of canine IMHA.
- Describe therapies for use in the acute setting for treatment of IMHA, including blood products, immunosuppressive therapy, and anti-thrombotic therapy.
- Describe the long-term management of canine IMHA, including strategies to taper immunosuppressive therapy.

Todd Archer completed veterinary school at Mississippi State University. He then went on to complete an internship followed by a small animal internal medicine residency at Mississippi State University. He is currently a faculty member in the internal medicine service at Mississippi State University and has board certification by the ACVIM. Total CE Credit: 4
