Course Information:
In veterinary school, we were taught that the Canine Distemper vaccine worked so well, we may only see Canine Distemper a handful of times in our lives. In the past couple of years, there has been an uptick in Canine Distemper cases. In some shelters and practices, it is seen multiple times a week. This presentation will review the history, prevalence, clinical symptoms, testing, treatment, prevention, and the possible reasons for its re-emergence.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
  • understand the history and prevalence of canine distemper in canines and wildlife.
