Course Information:
Arrhythmias are scary! Most of us are uncomfortable at the sight of arrhythmias due to the high-risk potential for dangerous outcomes. Most of the traditional teachings on ECG diagnosis and arrhythmias are so dense and complicated that we often get lost and forget what is important for clinical arrhythmia diagnosis and management. In this two-module course, we will get to the nitty gritty of ECG production and interpretation without getting too technical on unimportant things. We will also learn basic skills necessary to diagnose common arrhythmias and get comfortable with the antiarrhythmic drug arsenal. This course would be great for a beginner or someone with basic arrhythmia management skills but who wants to refine their practical knowledge of arrhythmia management.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
  • understand and develop basic skills in the interpretation of ECG.
  • diagnose tachy and bradyarrhythmia including differentiation of supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias.
  • provide treatment of common arrhythmias in the general practice setting.

Level and Prerequisites: This intermediate VIN CE course is open for enrollment to veterinarians interested in ECGs and arrhythmias.
Accreditation: This course is approved for 4 hours of continuing education credit by RACE for veterinarians. (RACE 20-939566)
