Talking to Clients About Dietary Recommendations

Week 3 (Abood/Churchill) Critical care nutrition support including:
Nutritional Assessment
Enteral Tubes and Diets
Parenteral Nutrition
Nutraceuticals
Talking to Clients About Convalescent Dietary Recommendations

Week 4(Churchill/Abood) Techniques for obesity management:
Nutritional Assessment
Taking a Thorough Diet History
The Importance of Body Condition Scoring Weight Management Programs
Therapeutic Diets
Talking to Clients About Weight Loss and Weight Mgmt.
Talking to Clients About Changing Their Behaviors

Week 5 (Churchill/Abood) A discussion of therapeutic diets including:
Gastrointestinal Diets
Dermatologic Diets
Neoplasia Diets

Week 6 (Abood/Churchill) A discussion of therapeutic diets continued
Heart Disease Diets
Liver Disease Diets
Diabetes Diets

Week 7 (Churchill/Abood) Diets for geriatric pets and therapeutic diets for renal disease

Week 8 (Bartges) Therapeutic diets for stone disease management.

At the end of this course, participants will have increased competence and confidence in incorporating nutrition patient management, using therapeutic diets appropriately and utilizing techniques for enteral and parenteral nutrition.

Discussions will begin on the start date of the course and will continue for 7 days following the real time session.

COURSE WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND POLICY: Withdrawal prior to the listed start date of a course entitles the registrant to a complete refund or a credit toward a future VIN CE course, whichever is preferred. Withdrawal within 1 week after the listed start date (i.e. including no more than one real-time session) entitles the registrant to a credit toward any future VIN CE course. (Does not apply to courses with only one real-time session.) After the first real-time session, a registrant may withdraw due to special circumstances and receive prorated credit towards a future VIN course. These requests will be handled on an individual basis. The amount of the prorated credit will be determined based on 65% of the time remaining in the course at the time of withdrawal. It is not possible to withdraw retroactively.
