Practice Sessions: In order to prepare you for a successful experience in your CE course, we request you attend a practice session prior to the first Real Time Session. Times and dates will be listed in your course confirmation email. Expect to spend up to 1 hour at one of the 2-4 practice sessions held prior to the first Real Time Session.

Level and Prerequisites: This advanced course is geared toward veterinarians interested in canine rehabilitation. Participants should be well versed in canine anatomy and physiology. The Introduction to Canine Rehabilitation course is a prerequisite for taking this course.

VIN CE Course: Open to veterinarians and veterinary technicians/VSPN members. This course has been submitted for RACE approval for veterinarians and/or veterinary technicians.

Course Description:
This course will allow participants to explore rehabilitation therapy by means of a case-based approach. It is assumed that participants already have a basic understanding of veterinary physical rehabilitation. Cases selected for study will be influenced by input from the course participants.

This course consists of two (2) 2-hour Real Time Sessions, supplemental library materials, interactive message board discussions, and a mandatory end-of-course test. Successful completion (scoring 80% or better) on the end-of-course test is required to earn a certificate of completion for the course.

About the Instructor:
Dr. Davidson is a veterinary surgeon who first became interested in physical rehabilitation to improve the postoperative care of her surgical cases. She has taken certification courses in veterinary acupuncture, chiropractic, and canine and equine rehabilitation. She is a clinical professor in surgery at Texas A&M University, and directs the physical rehabilitation program there.

Course Outline:
Week 1 (Real Time Session March 11, 2012 ):
Content: Historical information will be presented for several rehabilitation patients. Discussion will proceed through the patients' evaluation, therapy, and assessments. The focus will be on selection of appropriate therapy.

Week 2 (Real Time Session March 18, 2012 ):
Content: Case selections will be based upon input provided by participants during week 1. Historical information will be presented for several rehabilitation patients. Cases will be selected to highlight aspects of rehabilitation which participants elect to explore.

*To ensure participants are ready and prepared for classes, enrollment will close when the maximum number of participants is reached or at 5pm ET the day of the first Real Time Session unless otherwise noted. If the first Real Time Session is on a weekend, course enrollment will close on the Friday before the first Real Time Session.
