Level and Prerequisites: This intermediate course will be open to veterinarians and veterinary students actively interested in biostatistics.
VIN CE Course: Open to veterinarians and veterinary students. This course is approved by RACE for veterinarians. (RACE 22-42574)

Course Information:
A series of presentations examining basic aspects of biostatistics in veterinary (and human) medicine. The course aims to provide clinicians with better understanding of what types of tests are chosen for different data, the types of data that can be analyzed, how data can and should be presented. These skills will help make clinicians more critical of the scientific literature they read. Relatively "math-free". Clinicians will be provided with real-world examples from the literature and introduced to tools for performing basic statistical analyses.

We will discuss the homework questions and other issues regarding statistics that are seen in articles (often during review). Details for homework submission will be provided during the Week 8 Real Time Session.
Objectives: Upon completion of this session, the participant should be able to
  • Better understand various statistical approaches
