Course RTS Times in Your Area: World Clock Converter Level and Prerequisites: This basic course will be open to veterinarians actively interested in veterinary dermatology. There is no specific prerequisite experience or knowledge required for this course.

The first real time session will provide an overview of common skin tumors and new therapies. The skin is the number one organ for neoplasia, 33 percent of all tumors in dogs involve the skin. We will discuss some of the most common skin tumors seen in small animal practice. Note - this session will not discuss mast cell tumors. New and exciting therapies are constantly updating how we practice dermatology. Learn about new medications and treatments for the skin. The second session will focus on pediatric patients the first hour and the microbiome of the skin the second hour. Puppies and kittens are so cute, except when they develop skin problems. Learn how to help these vulnerable patients. As veterinarians we are learning more and more about the importance of the microbiome. The skin microbiome is unique and has its own influence in health and disease. Learn what it is and how changes can cause problems in the skin and ears. - Correctly identify and diagnose skin diseases in pediatric patients
- Effectively treat skin diseases of pediatric patients
- Discuss the normal microbiome of the skin and ears
- Discuss changes in the microbiome and how it relates to disease such as chronic bacterial pyoderma and chronic otitis externa

Song received his veterinary degree from Mississippi State University and completed a residency in dermatology at the University of California, Davis.
