SAIM200-0302: Clinical Cardiology: Case-based Update on Diagnostics, Therapeutics and Prognostics in Canine and Feline Cardiology

COURSE OUTLINE:
Each week clinical case examples will be utilized to emphasize the relevent points.

Week 1: Review of the vocabulary, physical examination techniques, and historical and clinical findings that underlie the diagnostic approach to cardiac patients.

Week 2: Review of the way the cardiovascular system responds to anatomical and functional "defects"/diseases.

Week 3: Review of the diagnostic tests utilized in working up cardiac patients. Theory, clinical application and relative value of each test in varying situations will be emphasized.

Week 4: Putting it all together -- making the diagnosis and prognosis -- and introduction to therapy.

Week 5: Volume Overloads

Week 6: Pressure Overloads and Myocardial Disorders

Week 7: Pericardial Disease and systemic diseases affecting the cardiovascular system

Week 8: Putting it all together -- Case Medley

At the end of this course, participants will be better able to:

COURSE WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND POLICY: Withdrawal prior to the listed start date of a course entitles the registrant to a complete refund or a credit toward a future VIN CE course, whichever is preferred. Withdrawal within 1 week after the listed start date (i.e. including no more than one real-time session) entitles the registrant to a credit toward any future VIN CE course. (Does not apply to courses with only one real-time session.) After the first real-time session, a registrant may withdraw due to special circumstances and receive prorated credit towards a future VIN course. These requests will be handled on an individual basis. The amount of the prorated credit will be determined based on 65% of the time remaining in the course at the time of withdrawal.
