What is necessary to obtain a complimentary VIN student membership?

Students enrolled in a recognized veterinary doctorate program (DVM, VMD, BVSc, etc) are eligible to apply for a complimentary VIN membership.

Required on Application:

  • Your school e-mail address (name@school.edu or name@school.ac or similar)
  • The name of the Veterinary School you are attending
  • When you expect to graduate with your Veterinary Degree (month/year)
  • Your School Website (if available)
  • If your university does not provide student e-mail accounts, please ask someone in your registrar's office to e-mail VINgram@vin.com so that we may contact them for a list of all veterinary students at your university. When we have this list, confirming your enrollment, we will gladly consider your application for access to VIN.

What is necessary to obtain an intern membership?

We accept both University and Private Practice Interns.

University Interns: If you are pursuing an Internship at a recognized veterinary school, you may be eligible for complimentary VIN membership, as long as you provide a University e-mail address (name@school.edu) and your expected program completion date (mm/dd/yy).

Private Practice Interns: If you are continuing your education at a private practice, at least one of the Veterinarians at the clinic must be a full paying member of VIN in order to "sponsor" your discounted membership*. The membership charge for a private practice intern is $50.00 U.S./program duration, payable by check or credit card. Your sponsor must contact VIN to verify your internship and program completion date (mm/dd/yy)

*If you are the only veterinarian member online at your clinic, New Graduate membership rates (within the first 24 months of your graduation from veterinary school), or regular membership rates will apply.

What is necessary to obtain a resident or graduate student membership?

University Residents & Graduate Students: VIN offers complimentary membership to Residents & Graduate Students with the hope that you will contribute your knowledge and experience to the VIN Community. You are encouraged to participate on the VIN message boards whenever you feel comfortable.

In order to be eligible for this free membership, you must provide your valid university e-mail address (name@university.edu), even if it is not your preferred e-mail address; your area of study and expected program completion date (mm/dd/yy).

Private Practice Residents: If you are continuing your education at a private practice you may be eligible for complimentary membership. You must provide your expected program completion date (mm/dd/yy) and have your program advisor or supervisor contact membership services with confirmation of your Residency and its duration.

When your program is completed, if you wish to get more involved in the VIN Community by joining our esteemed group of Consultants, please contact Dr. Paul Pion (paul@vin.com) for more information.

What is necessary to obtain an academic faculty membership?

Veterinary Schools:

Veterinarians who are full-time academic faculty at veterinary schools receive complimentary VIN access with the hope that you will share your expertise with the VIN Community. All veterinarian faculty are encouraged to participate in Message Board discussions, and are welcome to contact Dr. Paul Pion (paul@vin.com) about more formal VIN Consultant opportunities.

Remember: Please tell your students about VIN! VIN is a great resource to help them stay at the top of their class. Just have them go to www.vin.com and register using the Student application form. Student membership is free as long as they provide their university e-mail address, the name of the university they are attending, and their expected date of graduation (mm/dd/yy) on their application.

VIN is also interested in helping faculty design and host courses using VIN resources. Please contact Dr. Paul Pion (paul@vin.com) for more information.

What is necessary to obtain a non-veterinarian academic faculty membership?
Academicians teaching veterinary students:

VIN membership is currently available to academicians who are directly responsible for significant teaching of veterinary students in the classroom or clinics, and who clearly demostrate a meaningful, non-commercial contribution toward advancing the profession.

In order to correctly evaluate your eligibility for membership, please complete this survey. You will receive a response as soon as your survey has been carefully reviewed.
