You have to admire the time and dedication it takes to produce a book on pathology. The first edition of this book was a well-received addition to the available texts on pathology. The authors made a special effort to make this edition follow appropriate progression and logic.
This second edition provides not only the basic steps and theories of pathology, but includes some recent insights into the understanding of clinical pathology and its use in practice.
Primarily a textbook, I can see where the book will be useful to those practitioners who are able to do some of their own lab work and who have an ongoing interest and understanding of pathology. Not an easy challenge.
Like many books these days, where cost is an issue because of the size of the book, there are several pages of color plates bound into the center of the book. The photos are of excellent quality. The book, although hard-bound, is heavy enough to lay flat for easy reading when you have one eye on the microscope.
Each chapter has an impressive list of references in the event that the reader needs to further elaborate a point.
