This second edition (the first edition was published in 1996) has been thoroughly revised, reviewed, and updated by an international panel of 26 experts. Advances of recent years are included in this updated text, making this new edition an immediate standard in the field.
The first section is devoted to clinical problems commonly seen in practice and includes new chapters on juvenile nephropathies and abnormal renal palpation. The second section examines diagnostic techniques, renal function assessment, diagnostic imaging, and renal biopsy. The third section covers management of urinary disorders.
As with all BSAVA publications, the pages are filled with illustrations (color and black & white). There are colored charts, and case reports are highlighted in yellow. There are imaging photos distributed liberally though out, bringing this text up to speed with the advancements in diagnostic imagery.
