Small Animal Clinical Oncology is suitable for veterinary practitioners, students, interns, residents, and researchers. This field has grown remarkably in the past 20 years, as evidenced by the increasing journal coverage and training in this field, the formation of the Veterinary Cancer Society in 1988, and the creation of American College of Veterinary Radiology board certification in radiation oncology by the ACVIM in 1994.

The book's format makes it easy to reference specific topics, and the numerous new contributing authors bring important emerging talent to this third edition.

This volume comprehensively covers the latest material in clinical oncology - including chemotherapy, surgical oncology, and cytologic techniques in cancer. Its user-friendly style makes it an excellent reference for the clinician as well as those in academic research. Timely new information is included, making it relevant in day-to-day practice.

New and vital information on complementary/alternative medicine, pain management, phototherapy, and hyperthermia treatment is included to educate the practitioner and help the clinician impart information to anxious pet owners eager to learn about new developments and natural treatments.

All aspects of etiology, diagnosis, and management are presented, with emphasis on clinically relevant information. Over 200 illustrations demonstrate the best diagnostic and treatment techniques. The book also includes data on treatment and the outcome of clinical trials; this provides guidance for decision-making and prognoses.
