This is an easy to use set of 95 laminated flash cards covering the commonly seen internal parasites, ticks, and fleas of dogs and cats. The edges of the pages in the dog section are a different color than the cat pages are. In addition, the species names are near the top of the card, in large print, and they are alphabetical (to make it easier to find). (Only the Latin names are in large type. I think many technicians would have preferred to have the common names larger, with the Latin names below.) The full-color microscopic images of the parasites are very good, although many of them are a little fuzzy. That may be because they are enlarged quite a bit.
There is a table of contents, to help the user locate a specific parasite, but it is easy to just flip through the pages. Each page shows a full-color image of the parasite's diagnostic stage, along with a description on how it is acquired, pre-patent period information, clinical signs, habit of the parasite while it is in/on the animal, and treatment suggestions.
The cards are two-hole punched and attached with notebook rings. You can remove the individual cards, in case you want to put them up on a wall or under a glass countertop, or you can prop up the book (with a little balancing skill) to view while working.

The companion to this flip-book is a wall poster with 48 images of common parasites. Excellent for use in the clinic laboratory, the poster measures 22 by 36 inches. In addition, there is a Palm application in the works which will provide additional content and extensive search options to aid in the identification of parasites.
