From the Publisher:
"The first volume of this series is Protozoa. This second volume is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of reptiles affected by arthropod parasites. Information is comprehensive and presented in annotated outline form for quick reference. Chapters are divided by arthropod groups (true bugs, flies, fleas, and ticks), and include descriptions, hosts, host locations, sources of infestation, and life cycles. The text also includes a chapter on laboratory procedures for the herpetoculturists, and a bibliography of more than 430 references."
Arthropods comprise the largest phylum in the animal kingdom. There are about one million described species. All groups of ectoparasitic arthropods affecting reptiles, except mites, are treated in this volume. Parasitic mites were excluded in order to keep the book a manageable size, and because the vast majority of parasitic mites are tiny or exploit specialized niches and are likely to be overlooked by all but the most diligent herpetologists. For this reason, reptile mites will be treated in a separate volume in of this series.
