With 15 contributors, all leading experts in the field, this book is a compilation of up-to-date endoscopic/laparoscopic techniques. An informative, practical guide to endoscopic imaging of the dog and cat, the book offers valuable information on indications, instrumentation, patient preparation, and techniques. Each chapter covers a different aspect of endoscopy, including the specific tools needed for the procedure described.

There are hundreds of endoscopic views, accompanied by drawings and diagrams, to enable the reader to visualize each procedure. Comparisons with normal tissues of the same structure enhance the experience. The photography is excellent-clear and sharp, and the accompanying drawings by Gheorghe M. Constantinescu, DVM, Ph.D., Drhc, are excellent.

The first chapter, by Christopher Chamness (Storz Veterinary Endoscopy, Goleta, CA), illustrates the variety of instrumentation, both flexible and rigid, available to the endoscopist. These tools are well utilized in the following chapters, and the instruction in their use is a valuable area of this book. Information is also provided to assist in the choice of a video camera and monitor for visualizing target areas.
