Veterinary medicine, veterinary practice management, animal husbandry, and animal welfare issues are constantly changing. Veterinarians and veterinary staff have a large assortment of reference texts to select from when choosing newly-written texts for reference and learning. The VIN Book Review section can help veterinarians and veterinary staff decide (before making the purchase) if a particular reference book is suitable for their needs.
The original VIN Book Reviewer Kathy Lyon has been joined by several veterinarians and veterinary staff in generously providing many of the VIN and VSPN book reviews presented here.
The following "star rating" definitions are used by the reviewers to rate each text:
5 stars (
) - You must have this book. The quality, value, presentation, and information are all excellent and you will refer to this book frequently.
4 stars (
) - A welcome addition to your library. This book has important information. You will value the book.
3 stars (
) - This book may not be used every day, but you will probably be glad, at some point, that you have this book.
2 stars (
) - Limited interest topic, but contains valuable information.
1 star (
) - Limited interest topic and has less-than-optimal information.
The reviewer of each text is listed below the title and next to the star rating given. If the reviewer's name is hotlinked, you may click on the link to read more about that reviewer (including professional background experience and interests).
An asterisk inserted before the title of the book in the Table of Contents signifies that the book is Out of Print.
Happy reading!
