Published by OIE, this book is a collection of monographs on the subject of veterinary governance as understood by more than 40 contributing authors who are well versed on the matter at hand. The subject matter is of such that it would be attractive reading for anyone interested in agricultural economics, agronomy, or veterinary business management. While some may find the subject a bit “dry,” some interesting topics were covered, such as: “The foot and mouth disease network in the Southern Cone of South America” which allows one to compare different methods of dealing with a disease of worldwide importance such as foot and mouth disease from an economic perspective. Although the articles are up-to-date and well-written, it is not necessarily a book that would support education or continued education of veterinarians or veterinary technicians – either as students or graduates. For this reason, it garnered a 2 out of 5 star rating.
