Choosing to own a veterinary practice or to be employed at a veterinary clinic is a huge decision that a new graduate must decide when and if the opportunity to own presents itself in the future. The first part of the book addresses financial planning regarding how to attain such goals, making smart business plans to profit, budgeting and planning for children and real estate, and at the end of first section, case studies are used to show the reader examples of financial planning.

The second section deals with retirement and investing which, in turn covers planning for retirement, assessing risks, and learning how to manage investments. There is also a section at the end of the book that has a list of financial advisors and publications, as well as a glossary of terms.

The Veterinarian’s Guide to Financial Planning is a great guide when making a decision to buy or to be employed at a veterinary clinic. By setting goals, learning how to budget work and personal time, and planning for the future and retirement, this book definitely asks the questions needed to be considered before making such a huge life decision.
