This is a good resource for the college writer. It guides the student through all aspects of writing from planning and drafting a paper to writing correctly. It also includes instruction on punctuation and the mechanics of writing as well as sections that discuss grammar, writing effective sentences, and using effective language. Additionally, there are instructions for citations in MLA style, APA style, CMS style, and CSE style. All four styles include guidelines for in-text, list of works, and research paper citations.
All of the previously mentioned attributes make this an excellent resource for new writers. It can also be an easy to use resource for those who need a reminder on how to use a semicolon. This text would be a good resource for someone currently taking writing or English course and then can be used as an occasional refresher. A more experienced writer should be able to find something geared more towards your needs. Although veterinary technicians and clinicians in the field probably will not find this book useful, technician students as well as those contributing to the field by journal contributions will no doubt find this useful.
