This is the book of my dreams as a writer of the veterinary science genre. While veterinary dictionaries are abundant, this book really stands out and reminds me of two volume dictionaries which years ago accompanied encyclopedia sets. This is the way a dictionary should be presented complete with two-color text (words in blue, definitions in black text) as well as occasional color pictures and line drawings scattered throughout the book.
In addition to every veterinary word known to man from A to Z, there are five sets of appendices. Notice I said sets. As an example, within the Anatomy Appendix there are seven tabs (arteries, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, nerves and veins) with each one covering the individual members of each anatomical entry, other names it may be referred to by, origin and other comments. The five sets of appendices cover the following information (over the course of 109 pages): General Science, Laboratory Services, Anatomy, Clinical, and Veterinary Professional Directory.
This book with over 60,000 vocabulary entries, 1000+ color illustrations and extensive appendix references makes for an invaluable and necessary book for anyone associated with the practice or instruction of veterinary technology or medicine. I wholeheartedly recommend this dictionary as a “must have book” for anyone involved in veterinary medicine.
