This hardbound text explores in eight chapters the concept of zoonotic diseases, their potential as well as a variety of zoonotic conditions broken down by type (i.e. bacterial, tick-borne, fungal, parasitic, viral and prion-induced). Simply written and easy to understand this text offers information in a format that is easy to follow and easy to teach from. Academically within the scope of each chapter objectives and key terms are included which can be correlated into test questions by the instructor as a measure of ensuring that all areas of the chapter are covered. There are also review questions at the end of each chapter which may be utilized either as homework assignments, assignments of review or test questions. These questions are formatted much as the VTNE questions in a multiple choice format as well as offering matching and case study questions for students to review.

Summary
In terms of who can utilize this book; it is an excellent resource for educators however I do not feel that the average clinician, practitioner or veterinary technician will utilize it once they have taken a class in zoonotic diseases. For this reason, I assigned a 3 out of 5 star rating. I would like to mention however if you are an educator looking for a textbook on zoonoses this book would most definitely rate a 5 out of 5 stars.
