From the publishers:

"Practical Small Animal MRI is the seminal reference for clinicians using Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the diagnosis and treatment of veterinary patients. Although MRI is used most frequently in the diagnosis of neurologic disorders, it also has significant application to other body systems. This book covers normal anatomy and specific clinical conditions of the nervous system, musculoskeletal system, abdomen, thorax, and head and neck. It also contains several chapters on disease of the brain and spine, including inflammatory, infectious, neoplastic, and vascular diseases, alongside congenital and degenerative disorders."

With the availability of a 1.0 Tesla superconducting magnetic resonance unit, the authors set out in this book to provide a new slant on imaging texts. Utilization of several other imaging facilities (IAMS Pet Imaging Center, VA, Raleigh, NC, and Redwood City, CA; Advanced Medical Imaging Center, Tustin, CA) with state-of-the-art equipment and operators have made it possible for the authors to put together a substantive reference. The imaging includes diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine or gamma scintigraphy, computed tomography, ultrasonography, and magnetic resonance imaging.

The book is filled with high-quality images fully explained and marked. In some instances, the films are shown side-by-side with drawings to further illustrate a point. There are images of normal anatomy preceding each section, including the bony skeleton and soft tissue views.
