The book covers the basic information about rabbits, including a brief natural history and chapters on nutrition, behavior and medical and surgical nursing. Rabbit anatomy and husbandry is discussed so that the reader will have a good understanding of this animal.
There is a good chapter on nutrition. The book has numerous illustrations in black and white and in color, including a series of necropsy photos showing underlying muscle and bone structure. The chapter on behavior is useful as, being prey animals, some behavior may be governed by that status.
The chapter on restraint, handling, anesthesia, and fluid therapy is very good. The book is British, and some procedures described here for nurses (technicians) may be restricted to only veterinarians in the USA.
