This book is directed primarily toward the veterinary student, working to understand the structure and function of the nervous system. Melding the topics of Neurophysiology and Neuroanatomy is difficult for students with limited clinical experience. This book is designed to clarify those topics as they relate to each other.

There are 334 line drawings, photographs, micrographs, and MRI images in the book to assist in the clarification of the text. Side by side examples of a dissected brain and a MRI are included to enable visualization of the structure.

This book walks the student through the understanding of the relation of each aspect of the neurological structures, explaining development, operation, anatomical detail, and function, both in description and illustration. Not an easy topic, this book does its best to enhance the study of neurology. Beyond student instruction, this would also be useful for the clinician who has been away from school for a few years. Much has changed in the past 10 to 15 years, both in imaging and in the study of how neurological disease may affect the patient.

Some illustrations are accompanied by color line drawings to emphasize key structures. Nerve pathways of various body features are illustrated throughout. A few photos of animals with neurological defects are provided.

Multiple choice questions are included at the end of each chapter to assist the reader in interpretation. Answers are provided in the last chapter.

A website accompanies the book. The website directs you to the password to access the site.
