John B. Limehouse, D.V.M., is a 1966 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Limehouse practiced Western veterinary medicine and surgery for fifteen years as director of the Willamette Veterinary Clinic in Corvallis, Oregon. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Limehouse served as a faculty member at Oregon State University lecturing in the Honors College. He moved to California in 1984 to be on the faculty of the California Acupuncture College and further his education in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Certified as a Veterinary Acupuncturist through IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncturist Society) since 1982, Dr. Limehouse has served as a member on the Board of Directors of the IVAS, as Vice President, and as Chairman of the IVAS Educational Committee for six years. He served as Chairman of the Examination Committee and of the International Course Committee from 1986 to 1999 and is on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture. He is recognized as a prominent teacher and lecturer both nationally and internationally. He is the author of chapters in 2 recent textbooks: Veterinary Acupuncture: Ancient Art to Modern Medicine, edited by Schoen, and Complementary and Alternative Veterinary Medicine, edited by Schoen and Wynn.

He is a member of AVMA, California Veterinary Medical Association, Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, Physicians for Responsible Medicine, AVAR (Association of Veterinarians for Animal Rights), IVAS, the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Limehouse has completed many years of study in Traditional Chinese Medicine for both humans and animals. Along with all facets of TCM, including acupuncture, tuina, herbal therapy and Chinese nutrition, he has studied, and utilizes, both classical Homeopathy and Bioenergetic concepts in medicine, and is certified in Veterinary Chiropractic.

Dr. Limehouse is in private practice with his wife, Dr. Priscilla Taylor, at the Limehouse Veterinary Clinic of Holistic Medicine, located at 10742 Riverside Drive, North Hollywood, California 9l602. This practice works mostly with chronic, "incurable" diseases by utilizing acupuncture, homeopathy, and herbs. Dr. Limehouse uses both Western and Eastern approaches to treating his patients.

Their practice is one of the largest acupuncture and holistic veterinary hospitals in the United States, treating an average of thirty or more animals daily, treating everything from musculoskeletal conditions, joint degeneration, immune deficiencies, dermatological conditions and viral infections, to neuropathological problems.
