Current Professional Activities

  • I am currently working part-time at Hope Animal Medical Center (Athens, Georgia), building up their Exotics Clientele and doing relief work (50% small animal, 50% exotics) at All Creatures Animal Hospital (Atlanta, Georgia).
  • I am working on my PhD in Ecology and I'm also an Adjunct Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia; which means I do some clinical work, some clinical teaching, a substantial amount of didactic teaching and participating in research.

Past Professional Activities

  • 3 years as a zoo/wildlife resident at Cornell University

Marital Status

  • I am married to the world-famous Steve Hernandez-Divers, who, at home is just my husband and my best friend!

Children and Pets

  • No children yet. Soon, though....
  • We have one rescue rottweiler, Ghandi (named after
    the severe state of emaciation in which he was found and his peaceful nature-despite his huge size and formidable appearance) and two lazy cats. I sporadically take home reptiles that owners cannot afford to treat.....

Hobbies

  • I like to run, canoe, hike and camp. Steve hates to run, but he loves to hike with our dog!
  • Our favorite activity as a couple is to take salsa classes together!! My latin rhythmn and his strive for perfection............!!! We also enjoy swimming and gardening together.
  • I'm trying desperately to find the time to get back into painting..........
