Corneal sequestration is an inherited disease of Persian, Himalayan and Burmese cats. Its cause is unknown. Different type of conjunctival graft is apply to remove the sequestrum. In this case bulbar conjunctival pedicle graft was used following lamellar keratectomy.

A 2 years old, female Persian cat was referred to Ankara University, Veterinary Faculty, Department of Surgery for evaluation of a chronic corneal infection and a sequestrum in the right eye. Ophthalmoscopic examination revealed paracentral black necrotic area in the stroma at the right eye. Under general anesthesia lamellar keratectomy was used to separate the necrotic tissue from healthy cornea. Pedicle graft which is prepared from the superior temporal bulbar conjunctiva was sutured with 8/0 prolene into the surgical site under operation microscope. At the end of the first month graft was excised under general anesthesia. Topical tobramycin and cyclomid were used to prevent pain, penetration and risk of uveit development in the eye in both preoperative and postoperative period.

Application of bulbar conjunctival pedicle graft was resulted in elimination of discomfort and corneal vascularization in a month and there were no scar formation after 8 months. Recurrence of lesion was not observed after two years following surgical removal.

As a conclusion bulbar conjunctival pedicle graft following lamellar keratectomy can be used successfully in the treatment of not fully effected stromal corneal necrosis in cats.
