WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THYROID DISEASES IN CATS
Hyperthyroidism has been recognized for over 40 years, and we still don't know what causes it. Some cats are tricky to identify, AND some are very fragile to treat. While hyperthyroidism is common, hypothyroidism may be overlooked in cats. Bring your knowledge up to date on theories of etiologies and current recommendations for diagnosing and treating thyroid conditions in cats.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
  • What etiologies may be contributing to hyperthyroidism.
  • The role of overtreatment and prevalence of hypothyroidism.
  • How to minimize the risk of hypothyroidism.
Level and Prerequisites: This intermediate VSPN CE course will be open for enrollment to veterinarians, veterinary technicians/technologists, actively interested in Thyroid diseases in cats.

RACE Credit Approval: This program has been submitted (but is not yet approved) for 2 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize RACE approval.
