Course Information:
This course will give the participants an opportunity to critically think about how and why anesthetic drug protocols are chosen for a particular canine or feline patient. Each session will use a mix of audio, video, and images to present various real-life clinical anesthetic case scenarios. The speaker will lead the participants through the case presenting different variables such as presentation, history, vital signs, blood work, etc. The participants will then be asked to select the best protocol for each case and what type of monitoring equipment would be ideal for each case.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  • Evaluate canine and feline anesthetic candidates on presentation and history.
  • Participate in selecting a proper anesthesia plan for the patient from pre-medication through post-operative care.
