This
basic course is for all veterinary staff and will focus on common canine and feline allergic issues seen in small animal practice.

Course Description:
Skin conditions are one of the most common problems seen in day to day small animal practice. Some of the most frequent presenting complaints are itching, ear infections, hair loss, and �hot spots�. Allergies are a common underlying cause for these problems.
Veterinary technicians play a vital role in the management of allergic patients through obtaining complete histories, performing diagnostic tests, and providing client education. This course will support that role by providing an overview of canine and feline allergies.
Week 1 (Real Time Session March 27, 2018):
Canine and Feline Allergies
Objectives: Upon completion of this session, the participant should be able to
- List common differentials for itchy skin and ears.
- Describe similarities and differences between the common types of allergies.
- Understand how allergies are diagnosed and managed.
- Use new strategies for optimal client education
Successful completion (scoring 80% or better) on the end-of-course test is required
to earn a certificate of completion for the course.

About the Instructor:
Thomas Hansen, DVM, DABVP (Canine and Feline Practice) is a graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Canine and Feline Practice). He is in general and emergency practice in the San Francisco East Bay Area.
Total CE Credit: 1.5
Tuition: $32 ($29 early bird special if enrolled by March 5, 2018)
