Practice Sessions: In order to prepare you for a successful experience in your CE course, we request you attend a Practice Session prior to the first Real Time Session. Level and Prerequisites: This basic course will be open to veterinarians actively interested in the interpretation of dental radiographs. Veterinary technicians/technologists who are AVDT members may also enroll if they provide their AVDT number in the comment field of the payment page during enrollment.
VIN CE Course: Open to veterinarians and AVDT veterinary technicians/technologists. This course has been submitted for RACE approval for veterinarians and veterinary technicians/technologists.

Course Information:
The course is focused on the participant getting the maximum benefit possible from the use of digital intraoral (dental) radiology. It will introduce the concept of what is a good veterinary dental intraoral radiograph, how to take it, and how to correct errors. Radiographic anatomy of canine and feline teeth will be covered as well as non-pathological and pathological variations, and normal/abnormal anatomy of the mandible and maxilla for such things as developmental disease, periodontal disease, endodontic disease and orthodontic disease. We will discuss errors in diagnosis and examples of unusual cases will be provided.

About the Presenter:
Dr. Steve Holmstrom is one of the two original VIN Dental Consultants. He has co-authored the textbook, Veterinary Dental Techniques, which is in its 3rd edition and in 4 languages. He has also authored Veterinary Dentistry: A Team Approach, now in its second edition and edited three editions of Veterinary Clinics of North America.

  1. Enrollment qualifications: VIN CE courses are open to VIN member and non-member veterinarians. Veterinarians enrolling in a VSPN CE course must be a VIN member. Veterinary support staff must be a VSPN member to enroll in a VSPN CE or a VIN CE course open to VSPN member enrollment.
  2. Each enrollee must be able to receive emails from @vspn.org and @vin.com addresses. Email is our major form of communication with participants; personal emails are highly recommended rather than clinic/hospital email addresses.
  3. Each person is individually responsible for his/her own registration. To ensure that all information received is secure and correct, please do not enroll for a course on behalf of another individual.
