Clear Your Browser Cache

All those files stored in your cache take up space, so from time to time, you may want to clear out the files stored in your cache to free up some space on your computer. This is called clearing the cache.

To clear your cookies, follow the steps that apply to your browser:

Windows Internet Explorer 8

  1. On the Internet Explorer 8 Tools menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options box should open to the General tab.
  2. On the General tab, in the Browsing history section, click the Delete... button.
  3. In the Delete Browsing History box, select Temporary Internet files and click the Delete button.
  4. Wait for the computer to completely process this, and once it finished, click OK.

Windows Internet Explorer 7

  1. On the Internet Explorer7 Tools menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options box should open to the General tab.
  2. On the General tab, in the Browsing history section, click the Delete... button.
  3. In the Delete Browsing History box, click the Delete files... button next to Temporary Internet Files.
  4. Click Yes, click Close and then click OK.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Tools menu, and then select Options... .
  2. Select Advanced panel.
  3. Click on Network tab.
  4. In the Offline Storage section,click Clear Now.

Google Chrome

  1. Click on the wrench icon wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Select Clear browsing data.
  4. In the dialog box that appears, select the checkboxes for the types of information that you want to remove.
  5. Use the "Clear data from this period" menu to select the amount of data that you want to delete.
  6. Click Clear browsing data.

Apple Safari for Windows

  1. Click on the gear icon on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Select Reset Safari.
  4. In the Reset Safari window, click Reset to clear out the checked items on the list.

Apple Safari for Mac

  1. Click on the Safari menu on the top-left of the screen.
  2. Select Empty Cache... .
  3. Click Empty.
