Alcohol does not inactivate chlorhexidine. Saline will inactivate chlorhexidine, so chlorhexidine solutions should be diluted in water -- and not NaCl or lactated ringer's solutions.

I have never understood why a technician would be allowed to extract teeth. Please do not misunderstand. I think techs play a critical role in providing dental services. One only has to look at the potential complications associated with extractions to understand the possible problems.
