Week 1: Oncology, including the more common feline neoplastic conditions also addressing vaccine site associated sarcomas and paraneoplastic syndromes. The importance of supportive care for the patient and family will be discussed. -- Betsy Hershey, DVM, DACVIM Week 2: Infectious Diseases including an update on FIP, newly recognized diseases and a discussion of newer therapies for common diseases -- Stacey Hoffman, DVM, MA, DACVIM Week 3: Dermatology, an emphasis will be placed on the cutaneous reaction patterns, allergy and the differential diagnosis and management of pruritus and ringworm will be covered fully. -- Carol Foil DVM, MS, DACVD Week 4: Behavior, including inappropriate elimination and aggression. -- Petra Mertens, Dr. med. vet., FTAV, Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist Week 5: Neurology, diseases and treatment of the brain will be discussed: ischemic encephalopathy, vestibular diseases, encephalilitis/encephalopathies, brain masses, causes of seizures, and anticonvulsants. -- Linda Shell, DVM, DACVIM Class Schedule: February 24 - March 31, 2003 (Accepted by the Academy of Feline Medicine) Find out more about this class. |
