Acute Renal Failure Associated with Raisin or Grape Ingestion in 4 Dogs
Four dogs were presented with acute oliguric or anuric renal failure after a known ingestion of varying quantities of raisins or grapes. Prior to the onset of vomiting, all dogs were healthy.
Treatment of Canine Osteosarcoma with Surgery, Carboplatin, Doxorubicin and Piroxicam
Median disease free interval and survival time were 210 days and 450 days respectively.
Doppler Ultrasonographic Evaluation of Gastrointestinal Hemodynamics in Food Hypersensitivities: A Canine Model
Significant postprandial hemodynamic alterations in response to food allergens in dogs with food hypersensitivities can be shown noninvasively with Doppler ultrasound.
Plasma Renin Activity and Plasma Concentrations of Aldosterone, Cortisol, Adrenocorticotropic Hormone, and alpha-Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone in Healthy Cats
The aldosterone to renin ratios in neutered cats were significantly higher than in intact cats, primarily because of low plasma renin activity in neutered cats. The aldosterone to renin ratios of cats more than 5 years of age were significantly higher than those of cats less than 5 years of age.

Private Practice Internships: Opinions
The AVMA says that 27% of the class of 2003 went into an internship. (At some schools, it closer to half the class.) While a decade or more ago that meant going to a vet school or the AMC, Angell, or Oradell, nowadays most internships are in smaller private specialty practices. There is absolutely no oversight or regulation of these programs and the experience gained can be very variable.
Defects Found In Bull Terriers
What disease predispositions do Bull Terriers have? I need to educate myself, before I can educate my client.
Tibial Fracture In Pregnant Cat: Anesthesia Options?
Remember, Iso MAC drops by 40% when pregnant, and ventilators tend to increase Iso delivery. If you're not careful, your patient will be too deep in a hurry.
Cesareans And Calf Resuscitation
I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help calf survival, as a live calf is usually one of the main selling points I use to get the farmers to agree to a cesarean. (We've been in drought for a number of years, and finances are a big deciding factor.)
