Longitudinal study of veterinarians from entry to the veterinary course to 10 years after graduation: attitudes to work, career and profession
Most veterinarians were glad to have done the veterinary course, but for about one-quarter their career had not lived up to expectations and almost half would not do it again in another incarnation. Stress, hours of work, difficulties in balancing personal life with career and low income were important concerns for many.

Prevalence of Bartonella species causing bacteraemia in domesticated and companion animals in the United Kingdom
Isolates were obtained from 35/691 samples from 34 (9.4 per cent) of the cats, but not from any of the other animals.

Lysodren-Related Bloodwork Values?
Should I hunt for another problem, or wait and see what the values are when the ACTH stimulation is normal and the dog has been off Lysodren?

Getting Kickbacks From Pharmacies; Manufacturing vs Compounding
The local vetcentric rep is making several overtures to our practice to use their services, but we have some reservation regarding the ethics of directing prescriptions to a pharmacy that we receive a kick back from.

Strategies For Success -- we're doing it again!
What is practice success?

  • Is it depositing wads of money every week?
  • Is it working for grateful clients?
  • Is it working with happy employees?

VIN's Strategies For Success courses will help you refine your definition of success while teaching you how to make your practice match that definition!

What could be better?
Here's what!

Thanks for Using VIN!
As the year draws rapidly to a close, and we gather together to celebrate the holiday season with our families and friends, we pause to reflect.

Terrorism, wars, AIDS, famines, West Nile Virus, and an uncertain economy would make it easy to feel pessimistic. Yet, here we are over 12,000 veterinary colleagues united in a common goal -- to do what we can for our patients, clients, colleagues, families, neighbors, and communities.

Thank you for being here with us. Thank you for making us feel that VIN, in some small way, helps you daily in your personal and professional lives. Thank you for being a part of our dream and for helping ensure that VIN continues to serve our primary mission of being - forever - For Veterinarians, By Veterinarians.
