Clinical evaluation of a new formulation of propofol in a medium-chain and long-chain triglycerides emulsion in dogs
Propofol formulated in a mixed medium-chain and long-chain triglycerides emulsion has been recently introduced for clinical use as an alternative to the conventional long-chain triglycerides formulation. This prospective multicentric study evaluated the clinical effectiveness and the complications associated with the use of this new formulation of propofol in dogs.

Evidence-based drug use in equine medicine and surgery
The nature of the equine industry and equine veterinary medicine often requires veterinarians to prescribe drugs with little evidence for a drug's formulation safety or efficacy, or even assurance of the chemistry of the drug used. This means that equine veterinarians must remain skeptics and understand the limitations in their ability to attribute safety and efficacy to a particular drug or treatment. An evidence-based approach to pharmacology demands rigorous testing and an unbiased analysis of results.

Common procedures in broodmare practice: what is the evidence?
This article presents four procedures commonly used in broodmare practice, for which there is questionable evidence to substantiate their use.

Dispensing fee/markup
I believe its legal if we share what our dispensing fees are and what % we mark our drugs up. I would appreciate people sharing their info.I'm posting this here because of a situation that occurred where a specialist we referred to charged less then we did for medications and the client brought it to our attention. Their exam fees are more. I've heard that as more meds go the way of the internet, we will need to raise service fees to make up for lost pharmacy profit.

Idexx avian health profile: in-house test
Does anyone have any experience with the Idexx Avian Health Profile to run in house on the VetTest Chem Analyzer? Are the results accurate when compared to sending them out? Thanks for any input.

Suggested fee for anal gland/sac flush; tips for flushing and infusing anal glands; antibiotic recommendations ror anal sacculitis
I have recently developed a new way to infuse anal glands. I will use the index finger of my non-dominant hand to stretch the rectum down. This naturally everts the anal mucosa just enough that I can readily identify the punctae for infusion.

Suggestions for employee tuition compensation/reimbursement
I have an on-the-job trained technician registered in an online course. We worked out a tiered arrangement whereby she pays her tuition as she goes, but gets a $1/hour raise as she finishes each level and once she gets her license (not just completes the course) I reimburse her tuition over a period of two years if she remains in my employ.
