Message Boards: Know Your Folders!
One way to get faster responses to your posts is to post in the most specific folder. For example, one of the busiest folders on VIN is Internal Medicine. If you have a problem diabetic, try posting in the Endocrinology folder. If you have a painful Dachshund, post in the Neurology folder. Posting in the most specific folder directs your question to the VIN Consultant/Editors, and Associate Editors most dedicated to your particular concern. And remember, you don't have to have your name on a folder's About Page to jump in and share your experience. VIN welcomes the viewpoints of all colleagues, so feel free to give the help you'd like to get!

Canine respiratory coronavirus: an emerging pathogen in the canine infectious respiratory disease complex
Canine respiratory coronavirus (CRCoV) is a new coronavirus of dogs, which is widespread in North America, Japan, and several European countries. CRCoV has been associated with respiratory disease, particularly in kenneled dog populations. The virus is genetically and antigenically distinct from enteric canine coronavirus; therefore, specific tests are required for diagnosis.
Parvovirus infection in domestic companion animals
Some parvoviruses in companion animals, such as canine parvovirus (CPV) 1 and feline parvovirus, have demonstrated minimal evolution over time. In contrast, CPV 2 has shown wide adaptability with rapid evolution and frequent mutations. This article briefly discusses these three diseases, with emphasis on virus evolution and the challenges to protecting susceptible companion animal populations.
Sedative and cardiorespiratory effects of acepromazine or atropine given before dexmedetomidine in dogs
The combination of acepromazine with dexmedetomidine had no obvious advantages in comparison with dexmedetomidine alone, but the administration of atropine before dexmedetomidine is contraindicated because of a severe hypertensive response.

IV baking soda to treat cancer?
It seems to me, however, that if you could raise the blood pH high enough, you could kill all cells and thus, unfortunately, the host as well. If you could get that blood to go only to the tumor, it would be a different story.
Guidelines for animal-assisted interventions in health care facilities
Many hospitals and long-term care facilities in North America currently permit animals to visit with their patients; however, the development of relevant infection control and prevention policies has lagged, due in large part to the lack of scientific evidence regarding risks of patient infection associated with animal interaction.

Get More From VIN Search Tip: Increase the likelihood of your search returning the results you want by using PHRASES rather than SINGLE WORDS when you search: - Enter HEARTWORM ANTIGEN TESTS, not just HEARTWORM, if that's what you really want to search. - General terms like KIDNEY can sometimes be useful, but a more specific descriptor such as RENAL FAILURE or KIDNEY FAILURE is often more helpful. For more help and tips on searching, see Steps To A More Effective Search.
