There May Be 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover...
..but, there are just three ways to leave your VIN session. If you work in a multi-doctor practice, make sure you are accessing and posting under your own name so you can enjoy your own personalized settings and MyStuff (and protect your identity!): - From the Front Page
Look for the "Welcome, Dr..... " message at the top of the screen. Next to this you will see: (If you're not Dr..... , click here.) Click the "click here" link and then click OK.
- From Post New or Reply
To help you double-check while posting, the Post New and Reply windows show the name of the member logged on and provide a link that allows you to change users.
- From Anywhere
Close all your browser windows -- including all of AOL, if you access via AOL
Logging out in any of these ways will keep you from leaving your identity vulnerable and/or accidentally impersonating a colleague. Need Help? Having trouble logging in to VIN? Questions about your membership? Can't find that reference you need for a tough case? Help is a click, email or phone call away! (Hint: you can find this page anytime by clicking HELP on the main VIN Navigation Bar). AAHA/AAFP Pain Management Guidelines for Dogs & Cats Through a collaborative effort between Task Force members of the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners, these guidelines were created to educate and inform members of the veterinary profession. They should not be identified as standards of care, AAHA accreditation standards, or considered minimum guidelines, but rather as recommendations from AAHA and AAFP.

Effects of otic betamethasone on intradermal testing in normal dogs
Although otic betamethasone did not suppress adrenal glands, it mildly suppressed intradermal reactions to 1:100,000 w/v histamine, D. farinae, and C. dactylon.
Use of behavior analysis to recognize pain in small mammals
The minimization of pain in laboratory animals is a gold standard with implications for improvements in both animal welfare and research quality. Changes in behavioral parameters may indicate that an animal is in pain, but in order to effectively use behavioral change to assess pain, the observer must be familiar with normal behaviors. The author discusses normal and pain-related behaviors exhibited by rodents, rabbits, and ferrets.
Performance of 2 microtiter canine Coombs' tests
Sensitivity and specificity were 61% and 100% for the VMRD Coombs' test, and 82% and 95% for the U of MN Coombs' test.
Pharmacokinetics of enrofloxacin and flunixin meglumine and interactions between both drugs after intravenous co-administration in healthy and endotoxaemic rabbits
It is concluded that enrofloxacin and flunixin meglumine could be co-administered to rabbits to treat endotoxaemia as no negative interaction was observed between the pharmacokinetics of both drugs.

Have you ever seen this?
Here's a crazy case for you. I've done tons of GDV's over the years, and I've never seen anything like this. Our surgeon was stumped, too.
How visible are nylabones on rads?
I tried a search on VIN but came up empty. I don't have a nylabone in the hospital to try this myself. How clearly/well delineated/obvious is a nylabone on survey rads?
Why we shouldn't use Depo-Medrol
I would like some feedback on giving high doses of Depo-Medrol for allergies. I have alway given the standard of dose of 20mg/20# with success. Another veterinarian gives much higher doses,(20mg/10#) and many patients respond better and longer with this regimen.
