Acute systemic toxoplasmosis was diagnosed in a 4-5-year-old, male, Domestic Short Hair cat, which had been on cyclosporine A immunomodulatory therapy for feline atopy, over an 8-month period.


IBD Testing
IBD is inclusion body disease. Histologically, it's a very dramatic lesion, with eosinophilic intracytoplasmic inclusions that are quite dramatic. There are a number of different things that can look somewhat like that, though. The agent has not been positively identified, although the leading theory is that it is a retrovirus.
Client with Excessive Number of Cats
We have an excellent client who has 80 cats. She is a bit eccentric, but takes excellent care of these pets. She just purchased 3 more cats. My staff is getting a bit concerned that the cat numbers seem to still be growing. I am under pressure from my staff to tell her to stop the madness ...
Bothered By Clients Switching To Another Practice
Hand them their records, tell them that nothing will change until they do, and wish them luck. Tell them that you think changing veterinarians is a good idea -- that maybe the new vet can convince them to take better care of their own dog.

Bile Acids.....By the way, through a little VIN research I now know that elevated bile acids in the face of icterus are non-diagnostic. Wish I had checked before, could have saved the owner a little $$. Thanks
