Pharmacokinetics of imipenem in dogs
Imipenem is rapidly and completely absorbed from intramuscular and subcutaneous tissues and effectively inhibits in vitro growth of certain multidrug-resistant clinical isolates of E coli.
Correlation of ultrasonographic observations with anatomic features and radiography of the elbow joint in dogs
Precise correlations were established between the gross anatomic appearance of the elbow joint and the ultrasonographic images of its component structures. The ultrasonographic imaging protocol will enable complete examination of all regions of the joint for detection of pathologic lesions.
Effect of dietary fat source and exercise on odorant-detecting ability of canine athletes
Feeding a diet that is predominately high in saturated fat may affect the odorant-detecting capabilities of working dogs. Additionally, these data indicate that utilization of a moderate physical conditioning program can assist canine athletes in maintaining olfactory acuity during periods of intense exercise.
A comparison of the analgesic effects of butorphanol with those of meloxicam after elective ovariohysterectomy in dogs
Results of this study suggest that meloxicam will produce better postoperative analgesia than will butorphanol.


Horner's Plus In Rottie
CN VII (facial) and sympathetic innervation to the face (Horner's) both travel next to the inner ear. It is much more likely for there to be a focal lesion near the inner ear than some sort of polyneuropathy that happened to affect only these two nerves.
Naloxone Given After Apomorphine To Treat Ingestion Of Dryer Sheet
Dryer sheets contain cationic detergents and can be corrosive. Usually treatment involves: not inducing vomiting; dilution; gi protectants; bulking up diet to push the sheets out quicker; and monitoring for signs of obstruction or chemical burns to gastrointestinal tract.
Clients: My Pet's Too Old to Have Anesthesia
I tell my clients that I can make the anesthesia as safe as driving their pet to the office for the dentistry is. I tell them that they expect to make it to my hospital in one piece and I expect to deliver their loved one to them at the end of the day just as predictably.
