You Can See Clearly Now...With the Diagnostic Imaging Center!
What do ultrasound equipment discussions, normal radiographic anatomy of the equine leg and CT of thoracic lesions have in common? These are just three of the topics you'll find in the Diagnostic Imaging Center.

Browse information relating to a wide variety of species including birds, exotics, ruminants and small mammals. Check out links to helpful VIN resources including slide shows, videos and journal articles, as well as links to pertinent external resources.

The Diagnostic Imaging Center can be reached through the Specialty Center page in the VIN Library and the About Page of the Diagnostic Imaging folder.

Posting on the Message Boards:
Know Your Folders!

One way to get faster responses to your posts is to post in the most specific folder. For example, one of the busiest folders on VIN is Internal Medicine.

If you have a problem diabetic, try posting in the Endocrinology folder. If you have a Dachshund with chronic pain, post in the Neurology folder.

Posting in the most specific folder directs your question to the VIN Consultant/Editors, and Associate Editors most dedicated to your particular concern.

And remember, you don't have to have your name on a folder's About Page to jump in and share your experience. VIN welcomes the viewpoints of all colleagues, so feel free to give the help you'd like to get!

MyStuff Version 1.5.5 and Password Vault
Your MyStuff links and folders are SAFE. But now they live in a new home. MyStuff version 1.5.4 has an all new interface.

  • Drag and Drop works better than ever.
  • Click the Organize button to open a second list of your folders to organize your folders and links.
  • Expand/collapse by folder level.
  • Search your MyStuff by typing the names of links or folders and see them directly in the same window -- magically.
  • and much, much more...

The new MyVIN interface on Beta.vin.com also includes your own Password Vault -- the antidote for Password Hell!

No more remembering what site to visit and what username and password to use. Enter them once and your Password Vault remembers this information for many of your journal subscriptions and organization memberships.

Your Password Vault will help you jump right from VIN journal abstracts to the FULLTEXT of articles by logging you in to those sites automatically!

Let us know what you think!

More great new features are making their debut on Beta.vin.com! If you want the latest and greatest and want to be on the "bleeding" edge of where VIN is going, make Beta.vin.com your VIN Homepage.

The unwanted horse in the United States: an overview of the issue
The unwanted horse is one of the most significant welfare issues facing the U.S. horse industry. This paper discussed the causes of the problem, the types of horses affected, options, pending legislation and efforts by the industry to solve it.

Verocytotoxigenic Escherichia coli O157 in animals on public amenity premises in England and Wales, 1997 to 2007
On positive premises, the highest mean proportion of positive samples (29.0%) was in cattle, followed by sheep (24.4%), donkeys (14.6%), pigs (14.3%), horses (12.3%), and goats (9.9%).

Drug resistance in equine parasites: an emerging global problem
The worldwide escalation of parasite resistance is a major cause of concern for the horse industry. Parasite resistance to every main class of equine anthelmintic has been documented.

What should I do about an employee with a baby?
She's a great employee. She can't afford child care, and I dont want to lose her. How to handle this situation; any ideas?

Canine Influenza vaccine
In talking with folks at diagnostic labs, the prevalence of it does not appear to be that significant. In addition, it is generally a mild self-limiting disease.

Heartworm disease with embolization of worms to right lung lobe in a dog
Classic rads. I'm usually amazed at how quickly lungs like this clear up with a couple of days of prednisone and cage rest.
