Feline Bronchial Asthma: Pathophysiology and Diagnosis
Diagnostic investigation of patients suspected of having feline bronchial asthma routinely includes a complete blood cell count, serum biochemical profile, thoracic radiography, fecal analysis, ECG, and heartworm antibody and antigen assays.
Seizures in Young Dogs and Cats: Pathophysiology and Diagnosis
An immature brain is more prone to seizures than is a mature brain, because of multiple changes that occur during development.
Characterization, Expression and Function of c-Met in Canine Spontaneous Cancers
Canine tumours represent a novel large animal model in which to evaluate the safety and therapeutic efficacy of Met inhibitors as a prelude to human clinical trials.
Analgesia Effects of Detomidine HCI When Administered Into the Distal Interphalangeal Joint in Horses With Experimental Solar Pain
It is concluded that detomidine HCL produces analgesia when injected intra-articularly, giving a similar effect as a local anesthetic. It can therefore be considered as a good alternative and might for instance be used after arthroscopic surgery in horses.

Firm Swelling Over Maxillary 4th Premolar: Biopsy Says HSA
This is one of those cases that visually would lead someone to believe this dog had a tooth root abscess, which you ruled out by rads, thus would be a great teaching case. Great work up! Bad diagnosis.
Staph Pyoderma Of Nose/Ears In Young Dog
For the histopath, punch biopsies will work on the nose (don't prep the surface). Regarding the pinnae, I suggest a shave biopsy. In brief, take a #10 blade and shave off a small piece of crust and skin parallel to the cartilage. Use epinephrine and pressure to stop the bleeding.
O2 Flow Rate Relating To Cost Of Isoflurane; Mask Induction Debate
OSHA guidelines recommend that no worker should be exposed to ceiling concentrations greater than 2 ppm of any halogenated anesthetic agent over a sampling period not to exceed one hour. It takes 30 to 40 ppm of anesthetic agent for the anesthetic odor to be detectable. This means the staff might have 10 to 20 times the maximum desired exposure level without smelling a thing.
Using NSAIDs and ACE-I Together; Is There a Lowest Effective Dose of Enalapril?
For ACE inhibitors you're either giving the correct dose or a dose that is too low to do anything. You have to inhibit somewhere on the order of 85-90% of the enzyme in order to produce the expected effects.
