Ivermectin toxicosis in dogs: a retrospective study
Clinical signs of ivermectin toxicosis may be seen in some animals at doses lower than previously reported. The clinician should be aware that clinical signs may develop even at dosages previously thought to be of little risk e.g., 0.2 to 2.5 mg/kg even in breeds historically considered to have normal p-glycoprotein function.
Experimental infection of pigs with the human 1918 pandemic influenza virus
Presented data support the hypothesis that the 1918 pandemic influenza virus was able to infect and replicate in swine, causing a respiratory disease, and that the virus was likely introduced into the pig population during the 1918 pandemic, resulting in the current lineage of the classical H1N1 swine influenza viruses.
Endocrine effects of the GnRH antagonist, acyline, in domestic dogs
A single acyline treatment safely and reversibly decreased serum gonadotrophin and T concentrations in dogs for 9 days.

How many new grads change careers?
I was talking to one of my classmates who is probably going to quit fairly soon. She said if she had it to do over again knowing what she knows now, she would not have gone through vet school. I know of at least three people in addition to her that have given up the profession in the 11 yrs since we graduated.
Will palladia work on malignant melanoma?
Not that I am aware of documented. It will only be after Palladia has been used much more widely that we'll really "know" about what its best indications really are. The "know" is in quotes because even then it is likely that most of the data will be anecdotal.
Cat's weight loss due to severe, chronic damage of the liver and pancreas
You were on the money. There were stones in the pancreas. It was severe chronic active sclerosing cholangiohepatitis with biliary hyperplasia and multiple biliary cystadenomas. We had to euthanize due to the extent of the damage.
Listening to heart sounds: do electronic stethoscopes help with age-related changes to veterinarian's hearing?
In most instances you should still be picking up the sounds you need to. As we age, we lose our ability to hear higher frequency sounds but we usually retain our ability to hear low frequency sounds. Most heart sounds are on the low end of the frequency spectrum.
