Diagnosis and Therapeutic Management of Lead Toxicosis in Falcons in Saudi Arabia
Radiographic findings alone are not sufficient to diagnose lead toxicosis in falcons. The LeadCare Blood Lead Testing System can be successfully used to determine blood lead concentrations up to 65 ug/dl as part of the overall diagnostic workup of lead toxicosis.

Pulmonary Mycobacteriosis Caused by Mycobacterium haemophilum and M marinum in a Royal Python
Mycobacteriosis is an uncommon and sporadic pyogranulomatous disease of reptiles. Mycobacterium haemophilium infection is zoonotic.

Chest Tube and Heparinized Flushing
Heparin does not dissolve preformed fibrin in blood clots. It does prevent new clot formation, but - unless there was significant active bleeding into the chest - I don't see clot formation being a major problem. In fact, if there IS significant ongoing bleeding into the chest, the last thing I'd want to do is prevent clots!

Feline Shock Treatment: Fluids, But No Steroids?
So, the bottom line is that there is probably a subset of patients with shock that would benefit from steroids--but we don't know the who and the when yet.
